The UPW’s women division has seen its ranks bolstered
lately with the addition of numerous lovely but lethal
vixens and nowhere is this fantastic feminine formula more
apparent than with the addition of blonde bombshell
Melissa Coates.
While still maintaining an alluringly gorgeous appearance,
this former championship powerlifter and bodybuilder
boasts many amazing and impressive kudos in her past,
including being ranked 9th in the world in the
latter sport.
Growing up in Canada’s Thunder Bay, Melissa admits to
being a tomboy as a kid, excelling early in sports while
still achieving excellent grades in school; (she now can
boast a college degree with a major in biology).
Always attracted to physical prowess, the gifted
athlete turned first to tennis, but did so with the desire
to incorporate power moves like her then icon Martina
Navratilova, leading her soon into the field of
powerlifting as a side interest. A championship
benchpresser, Melissa then turned to bodybuilding, which
she feels closely parallels wrestling in it’s sports
entertainment component, and soon was excelling again,
scoring in the top 10 in the Ms. Olympia twice and
becoming a super-successful fitness and bodybuilding
magazine model.
Despite all this fantastic success, however, Melissa again
longed for the challenges of active sports competition and
so it was natural for her to find the synthesis of power,
appearance and showmanship that ladies pro wrestling
offers. “Bodybuilding
is more of what you look like,” she explains.
“I kind of miss the athleticism I was able to
demonstrate when I was playing tennis. I needed something
to get myself charged up again.”
A Ultimate University student now, Melissa seeks new
arenas in our fed where she can pit her power,
intelligence and athletic acumen against the top ladies in
our burgeoning female division.
“Watch out UPW!” she promises. “I’ve
already proven myself a dominating force in women’s
bodybuilding and I plan to do just that again in women’s
professional wrestling.
Where there’s a will, there’s certainly a way.
I’ve got a lot of fierce determination behind me and
that will certainly take me all the way to the top!”
