Comments:

He’s been a staple of UPW’s weekly light show productions for some time and now Tommy Wilson is moving on to even bigger and better things.  A top-notch Ultimate U student since January of 2002, this San Diego supertalent has rapidly moved up the ladder of notoriety and now is impressing Ultimate Pro fans everywhere.

Starting out as a chubby, large kid, Tommy began his dedication to excellence early and soon had gotten himself into considerably better shape, excelling in high school wrestling, football and diving.  “It was the diving training that has particularly helped my aerial awareness in the ring,” he admits now; while several college gymnastic classes have produced a man who not only mat wrestles with the best but who can demonstrate unusual agility as well.

And it is no surprise that this tall, lanky rookie’s mat skills are exceptional too, as he boasts a very special connection during his earliest training days; being a student at the Lion’s Den, run by world-famous mixed martial arts fighter and ex-WWF superstar Ken Shamrock.  “They opened a pro wrestling section as part of their training and I was already looking to learn this trade at the time, so I jumped at the chance to attend.”  Learning valuable martial arts and fighting skills as he trained for his future sports entertainment career, Tommy was directed to UPW by  Off Da Hook’s Scott Young when the Lion’s Den pro wrestling school was forced to close…. and the experience training under Tom Howard, the Ballards and recent World Wrestling Entertainment-signee Spanky has proved a great one not only for Wilson but for his growing legion of UPW fans as well.

Dedicated, knowledgeable and skilled beyond his young years, Ultimate Pro fans can be sure of one undisputable fact: When the name Tommy Wilson is on a future Galaxy card, this particular squared-circle appearance is one definitely NOT to be missed!

INTERESTING FACTS:

--Tommy learned his original wrestling skills at Ken Shamrock’s San Diego Lion’s Den. What makes his arsenal of skills so impressive, however, is that he mastered not only the pro wrestling area there but absorbed a good bit of shootfighting, kickboxing and martial arts as well.

--He is a dedicated surfer and can be seen often with or without his wet-suit hitting the San Diego beaches.

---Tommy first was introduced to wrestling as a young kid when he heard that Hulk Hogan had lost to Ultimate Warrior. “I checked out the shows and was immediately hooked by the Warrior’s character and by wrestling in general.”

---Tommy Wilson is also a dedicated cook. He loves to “bake sweet things like brownies and cookies and even though they’re not on my training regimen, my niece and two nephews will quickly devour them.”
