Watching Saturday Night’s Main Event as a kid (when he was supposed to be asleep), he caught the wrestling bug and began to admire the likes of Hulk Hogan and Bret “Hitman” Hart.  He got his start in professional wrestling after his mother saw a commercial for a wrestling school ran by the late Yokozuna. Johnny saved his money and began wrestling soon after at the ripe age of 16. He graduated High School early, where he played football and baseball, so he could take it to the next level with UPW in January of 2000. Currently, Johnny and his brother Jason keep current with the current trends in the world and this reflects in their wrestling. “In the past I used to be known as a charismatic clubber.” Though he is young in the wrestling world, he has accomplished quite a bit. Johnny has wrestled all over the world including Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii and even Cuba! His start continues to rise as he has been invited to invitation only tournaments throughout the country. Along with his brother, he held the Tag Team Titles for the HWA, formerly a WWE Development territory. One thing is for sure, Johnny Riggs definitely has made his stake here in Ultimate Pro Wrestling with his eyes on UPW gold. When asked his goals in professional wrestling, he states, “Simply put...because I love to do it, its my passion in life, I want to become recognized as a hardworking, respectful and dedicated sports entertainer.” Johnny definitely has the never say never mentality, and with his goals in sight and not being afraid to fail, we are sure to see a lot of the Excellence of Innovation in the future.
