Jason Riggs feels he was destined to become a professional wrestler. Jason, the older brother of fellow UPW superstar Johnny Riggs, says he always wanted to be a wrestler, but he never had the money. But things in life happen for a reason. Jason was involved in a near fatal automobile accident, and through the money he received for it, Jason began his trek to superstardom. “Just about the time I became interested in wrestling, this happened. I feel as if it happened for a reason.”
Because of the car accident, he was unable to play sports in high school, but he always loved wrestling. Jason actually was a professional artist prior to becoming a wrestler. This no doubt comes in handy when coming up with new and devastating moves for his opponents. Now Jason is living his childhood dream of being a professional wrestler. With his brother, they are the trendiest tag team in UPW. Jason compares his character to that of something you would see on MTV. That must explain the girls in the audience. With his brother, they became Tag Team Champions for the HWA, formerly a WWE development territory. He has wrestled for over 20 promotions worldwide. He sure has come a long way since staying up late to watch Saturday Night’s Main Event as a child.
When asked why he chose professional wrestling, Jason states, “It consumes my being, there isn't a day that goes by that I am not thinking of a way to become better at my craft, passion would be the best way to describe it.”
His goal is the same as many, to make a mark in the sports entertainment world. Jason wants to earn the respect of his peers, and become the best he can at what he does, something he is well on his way to doing. Most importantly, he wants to leave his mark in professional wrestling forever. Because Jason prides himself on being a hardworking, dedicated and honest man, it really seems that with what he has had to endure in his life, fate wants this to happen for him. So keep posted, as Jason and his brother Johnny continue to wreak havoc in UPW and the sports entertainment industry for years to come.
