If the “intimidation factor” is important in pro wrestling today, then Horseshu fits that bills to a scary tee. Raised as a kid in New York’s brutal “Hell’s Kitchen”, this gargantuan monster, seemingly chiseled from rock-solid granite, knows what is to struggle for survival. He’s brought those street skills to the squared circle. There’s much more however to this man mountain that meets the eye… his inspirational story is one of personal success as well. The son of a single mom, Matt “Horshu” Wiese he left home at age 16 to fend for himself, and when he discovered that lefe was “survival of the fittest”, he set off to prove he could rise head and shoulders above his dead-end ghetto buddies. So immense was his enormous drive, he built himself not only to amazing physical proportions, but mentally as well; lifting himself by his considerable bootstraps to a respected place as a sports medicine student at renown Arizona State University.

His biggest personal rush came as he neared graduation and a friend turned him onto the famed Power Plant, where he “auditioned” and became one of a chosen few.

Over the next two years, Horshu competed as a singles and tag wrestler with America’s then second-top promotion, WCW; a career that ended when he decided to move west to his present home in Arizona and reevaluate his future options.

After a chance meeting with UPW Owner Rick Bassman, who he describes as “the man who made everything possible for me again,” Horshu is now is emerging as one of UPW’s rookies; both in singles action and as a new enforcer for Tom Howard’s Big Time. “No matter who they throw against me, I will be ready to prove who the new dominant force is here in your federation. Everybody will know my name! Yes baby, when it comes to top wrestling action one thing is for certain: there ain’t no business like ‘shu business!!!”
