He has spent considerable time in Brazil even though he currently brings his extensive martial arts skills to our Southern California arenas. For Antonio Mestre, his life has been one consumed with a variety of fighting disciplines; and he is now creatively synthesizing those skills to produce a unique, fresh and quite lethal in-ring product.

Moving here as a kid who early on was enrolled in local dojos, Antonio found that he was competing and excelling as a teenager in many local tournaments; even gaining some attention in the martial arts press but a lifelong love of pro wrestling soon compelled him to shift his focus elsewhere.

“I always love new challenges and for some reason I started to lack that feeling of excitement that once compelled me to move forward in martial arts,” he admits now. In addition, he had discovered UPW after coming into contact with frequent performer Joey Ryan who told him this fed’s top wrestling school was the place to be to make one’s pro wrestling dreams come true.

Taking his favorite form of fighting, capoeira and incorporating it into his developing style as a standout student at Ultimate University, Antonio now can not only fulfill his promise to his Brazilian mestre (master) to help publicize that discipline, but also delight fans with the various acrobatic moves that are part of capoeira routines.

“My goal is nothing less than all the other top recruits,” proclaims this fiery fighter. “I want to be one of the major champs here in this fed and hopefully someday make it to WWE like other UPW alumni who have come before me.”

Now as he begins effortlessly to move up the Ultimate Pro ladder of success, this is indeed one super-dedicated talent to watch and enjoy!
