From October 2000 through May of 2001, Emmy Award-winning
Producer-Director Dennis Lofgren followed
Ultimate University/UPW through practice, through live shows and
through.....life. The result is "Bodyslam: The Making
of a Pro Wrestler," a compelling, behind-the-scenes
look at the world of independent pro wrestling.
Although the show includes literally dozens of
UPW wrestlers and Ultimate University students, Lofgren, after a
couple months of production, chose to focus on Christopher
Daniels, Mikey Henderson, Jon Heidenreich and the late Drzan McBee.

At the time this gritty
documentary was made, Chris was preparing for his shot at a contract
with the then-still-functioning WCW, Big Jon was a few months into training
and prepping for a try-out with WWF and Drzan, a beginner to the
squared-circle, was wondering if she could balance motherhood with pro
wrestling.
In the tradition of Ultimate's
previous feature on The Discovery Channel, "Bodyslam..." is as real as
it gets and is sure to be talked about within the pro wrestling world
for years to come.
