UPW is pleased to
announce that it has entered into a North American distribution deal
for DVD Titles. In early August, six UPW titles will simultaneously
hit the shelves of major retailers nationwide.
Four of the six titles
-- "Shockwave," "Rage at The River," "Reunion" and "Home of The Brave"
are comprised primarily of all-star, action-packed UPW shows which
took place in California and Nevada over the past year. "Future
Shock, Volumes 1 and 2" feature UPW stars doing battle against such
wrestling luminaries as Rob Van Dam, Shinya Hashimoto, Superfly Jimmy
Snuka, Tommy Dreamer, Juventud Guererra, John Cena and The Road
Warriors.
Each of these six
great shows contain lots of UPW in-ring action, as well as tons of
extras, like the provocative "Vixens' View," "UPW at Zero-One in
Japan" and specially- commissioned "In The Pit with Pier" segments,
featuring UPW Superstars.
UPW first came to
national prominence through TV specials like The Discovery Channel's
"On The Inside: Pro Wrestling School" and The Learning Channel's
"Bodyslam: The Making of A Pro Wrestler", through its association with
WWE and Zero-One, and through its defeat of the NFL on FX's "Team
Toughman."
"We've worked very
hard over the past five years to establish an identity for UPW," says
Company President Rick Bassman. "This DVD release is an
important step in our evolution and in our quest to deliver UPW to
more wrestling and sports entertainment fans."
"The 'beauty' of an
undertaking like this," Bassman continues, "is that with almost no
budget, --with editors Sonicfish working virtually around the clock
for 2 months-- we're able to deliver a product that I'm positive fans
will find entertaining, action and extras packed, and most of all,
more than worth every penny. Further, it's also a great showcase
for such talented UPW mainstays as Tom Howard, Sylvester Terkay,
Hardkore Kidd, Frankie Kazarian, Keiji Sakoda, Skulu, The Ballards and
many others who have been with us from the beginning, and who should
go on to make big impacts at WWE and Zero-One."
The UPW titles are
produced by Rick Bassman Enterprises and Sonicfish Werlcast
Productions Inc., with hands-on
collaboration by UPW Writer/Commentator Todd Keneley.
The titles will appear
on the shelves of major retailers throughout the North America this
July.
