Simply,
it's a shame. It's a shame how some people get so bitter
at the world that they long to belong to, just because
they never felt accepted into that world. Maybe they were
accepted by some, not all and not by the ones they wish
would accept them. This is the case of the Ultimate
Warrior or whatever name he is going by these days. In his
latest "look at me Ma, I can spell big words"
column, he attacks Curt Hennig and real men who have
changed their lives.
I have logged onto the Warrior web site a few times, to
check it out. I truly believe in his philosophy of always
believing in yourself; that's a must, for if you don't,
nobody else will. The thing that gets me about Warrior is
his attacks on talent that are making comebacks or have
sadly passed on. With his impressive words, at least to
the teenage kids going through puberty, I'm sure he feels
that he has some solid points and he is always right.
After all, he is the Warrior, a man who believes his own
press. Don't get me wrong, I have never met Warrior, nor
would I want to. Not that I am better than him or anybody
for that matter, but after reading his
"thoughts" on some of the boys in the business,
past and present, he obviously is not worth my time or
effort.
I am a former WWE employee. I worked alongside Vince,
Steph and Shane as a member of the creative team. It was a
tough and demanding job and due to letting my personal
issues into my workplace, I parted ways with WWE after the
best part of a year. During that time, I had highs and
lows with many people, especially Paul Heyman, who may not
like me to this day, but thankfully I have gotten over
myself and I can safely say that Paul is good at and has
passion for what he does.
I have no ill feelings towards anyone in this business;
none. You have to be a special individual to be a part of
the business and WWE is full of them. Maybe that is why
Warrior is not a member of that roster.
It seems to me that Warrior is bitter; bitter because he
is not allowed play in the yard with the rest of the kids.
The headmaster, Vince, knows that the big kid, Warrior,
just can't play right. He's always starting trouble and
then whining and complaining about it when he doesn't get
his own way. Hey Warrior, remember when you continually
stiffed Rude and then one night Rude kicked your butt in
the dressing room? Bitter? Huh!
Let’s get some things straight here about Curt Hennig. I
met Curt a few times when at WWE and he was a perfect
gentleman; he truly was. Curt did two things that we all
do on a daily basis: He made a choice and he made a
mistake. You made a choice to read this article. Curt made
a choice to do what he did and it was a mistake, another
thing we all do. I make mistakes, you make mistakes and
believe it or not, newsflash, Warrior makes mistakes. Curt
paid for his mistakes and we all know that, but in a time
of losing people we love, we try to remember the good
things about them because that’s what good-hearted
people do. They do not attack people who have left us and
cannot stand up for themselves. If you think the whipping
Rude gave was something, Warrior, I know Curt could do far
worse.
Everyone in life has issues, some more than others and
sometimes it costs them their lives. In Curts case,
it did. Luckily, some of the boys find something to help
them and most of them find God. Now, Im not a real
religious person, but if one of the boys is heading down
the wrong path and he does something to change his
direction, than my hat is off to him. That is what Hawk
did. I worked shows with Hawk when he was messed up and it
was scary and Animal was always the big brother type of
guy, trying to keep him in check. So Warrior, you knock
Curt for not stopping what he did, which killed him, but
yet when one of the boys does stop and realizes his
problems, you still knock him. Are you that starved for
attention? Or is it the fact that you were never accepted
as one of the boys? Hmmm..
As far as Shawn Michaels goes, I also believe that he has
changed for the better. Again, when working at WWE, we
were in Texas for a RAW show and Shawn showed up. Shawn
was polite and mingling with his old pals and having some
laughs. Later though, Shawn was a little worse for wear.
Oh well, he has changed. That is why there is help out
there, so people can change. I have not seen Shawn since
then, but who am I to doubt somebody who is making an
effort for his wife and child and evolving their life into
something better. He is a better man for doing that than I
will ever be.
All of your shots at the boys have one thing n common.
They are all of the boys that worked when Warrior was
still fortunate to be a part of this crazy but fun
business. Is it because people like Hogan, Road Warriors
and Michaels are still around because they actually have
talent? Now that is the A section of Warriors Black List.
The B section contains the names of deceased talent: Davey
Boy & Curt Hennig. Way to go, you must have a
shriveled set of balls, if you have any.
It makes me sick that somebody can have the fame and money
that was handed, yes handed, and graciously given to them
and years later turn around and spit on everyone that made
that possible. That is what Warrior is doing. I will admit
with no hesitations, I loved the Ultimate Warrior
character back in those days. It was something new and
fresh and I was delighted when Warrior went over Hogan at
WMVI.
I am a mark, no doubt; you have to be to be in this
business. I was a mark when I was a kid, now I am a
different mark. I love the business side of sports
entertainment. I love the creativity of it, all the
backstage work that goes into putting a show together. I
love it. I have the utmost respect for the boys who treat
the business right and go out and do a good job, (no pun
intended). Everyone who is involved in the business is a
mark, because they love the business.
Now I know that if a response does come from this, it will
be full of big words that will intimidate the younger
audience, but fear not, he is just looking to have the
naive teenagers believe that he is something more than a
has-been. The response may just be a simple, "I'm too
big a man to waste my time with this idiot,” but not too
big a man to knock a deceased person. Warrior, as far as I
can see you are done with this business, as I will be
later this year. If, by some miracle Vince does ever give
you a second, third, shot, (I forget how many he's already
given you), but if he does give you another chance, watch
your back and have a little more respect for the boys,
past, present and deceased. Otherwise you may receive
another rude awakening.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and
with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you
again.
Think about it Warrior.
